Description

Sharoshechny drilling is a rotational method of drilling wells using a sharoshechny bit as a rock-crushing tool. Rocks during ball drilling are destroyed by steel or carbide teeth of the balls rotating on the supports of the drill bit, which, in turn, rotates (60-600 rpm) and is pressed with great axial force to the face (500-2000 kg per 1 cm diameter). The teeth of the rotating balls roll over the face and, due to the high stresses developing in the zone of contact of the teeth with the rock, destroy it by crushing and chipping. With an increase in the strength of the rocks, the rotation frequency decreases, and the axial force increases. The rock destroyed at the bottom of the well is removed to the surface by washing, purging or a combination of these methods.
